Welcome to the Dungeon Door!

Welcome! I'm new at this blogging stuff, but I find that it is a great way to connect with other gamers, painters, and model builders.

Well, I have finally updated my blog with a few new projects I am working on... mainly Firestorm Armada and WarMachine.

In the past I've worked with lots of mini's... such as Warhammer, 40K, The old FASA Star Trek models, Mordhiem, Warmaster, Reaper mini's, and many other odds and ends.

I also enjoy making model buildings and I have done some work with plaster buildings... but more on that later...

Paladin of the Order of the Wall

Here's my Paladin... worked more on the cape initially. Havn't done much with the fig except to darken in some of the cracks.

Protectorate Flame Guard

And since it is hard to work on one thing at a time... here's some WarMachine Protectorate Temple Flame Guard mini's I'm working on too!

Sorylian Morning Star Class Carrier

The Sorylian Carrier looks like a aircraft carrier in space... so I have a lot of detailing yet to do to the flight deck. I've seen some modified with small ships from Battlefleet Gothic... I'll have to see where I could get little tiny ships... any suggestions....?

Sorylian Cruiser

More Sorylian ships, a cruiser in the fore front. I've looked at a lot of painted Sorylian ships online, and for the most part stolen others designs, but I have made a few modifications! Still not finished, but they are underway...

Sorylian Battleship

Here's some Firestorm Armada ships I am working on... I bought the Sorylian collective starter box and the carrier. Basic coat is on and I got some lines painted on them. The ships, although resin are very detailed a pretty impressive looking...

Speed painting - 1hr.

Here's another mini I painted in the speed painting competition at Gen-Con. This one is from Privateer Press. I was able to finish in third place in the final round with this one. I've been trying hard to learn how to blend better, so not bad for a hours work.

Gen Con seems forever ago... and its been a while since I've posted anything. However here is a pic of the top three minitures from a speed painting competition I took part in. I was able to get second place and into the final round with the Sorrow in the middle, from Wyrd miniatures. Judges seemed to like the extra detail on the base. Speed painting is starting with a primed miniature and seeing what you can do in 45 frantic minutes...
